The New Assembly T Station Officially Opened at Assembly Row Somerville

The Orange Line at Assembly Station officially opened at Assembly Row in Somerville this past Tuesday, September 2nd.

It marked the historic opening of the Orange Line Assembly Station T-stop in Somerville, MA.

Its the first new MBTA T-
station to open in more than a quarter century and with Somerville’s newest and biggest neighborhood, Assembly Row right next door.

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Federal Realty and other Somerville and state officials hosted a celebratory tribute walk through to the official ribbon cutting ceremony and official speaking program on a record breaking hot muggy September afternoon with Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.
