This past Sunday, it was a run, a walk and new this year also a wheelchair
The race was open to runners, teams and families of all ages and abilities. There was also a 1/8 mile Kid’s Fun Run (age 9 and under) before the race with all kids getting a medal!
The Race to the Row was run through the Assembly Square District and along the Mystic River, ending with a fun-filled post-race party with food and drinks served from the newest local restaurants and live music supplied by the IT Band!
All proceeds went to benefit the East Somerville Main Streets program as well as Somerville TrackPAC (provides college scholarships for Somerville High School students).
The first 300 registrants were guaranteed to receive a race t-shirt, and all paid registrants got free food, drinks and dessert afterwards!
All racers, volunteers and members of the cheering crowds participated in the post-race festivities. There were awards ceremony following the race for top finishers in Mens, Womens and Wheelchair divisions.
There will be plenty of more events to come as Assembly Row grows and new businesses and restaurants start opening their doors!
