Calling All Job Seekers: Assembly Row Hosts Final Pre-Opening Hiring Event for Assembly Row Retailers
After four successful hiring events co-
hosted by Federal Realty’s Assembly Row and the City of Somerville in March, one last Assembly Row pre-opening hiring event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23.

SOMERVILLE – As Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRIT) prepares for the grand opening season of Assembly Row, more retailers are nearing their opening dates which signals the need for hiring.

“Unlike a traditional mall or retail center, Assembly Row is a neighborhood and will have retailers and restaurants open throughout the Grand Opening Season this summer. As such, we expect to see an on-going and continued need for hiring initiatives to support our tenants needs,” said Andrea Simpson, Director of Marketing at Federal Realty Investment Trust at Assembly Row. “Retailers in general look to begin hiring efforts about 35 days prior to opening their doors to the public so our focus is on providing the tools necessary to support this on-going need while also working with The City of Somerville to match top candidates with available positions.”

In response to this on-going need, several job fairs have been scheduled through the end of the year with the next this month, before 20+ tenants begin to open their doors. The hiring event will be held on a weekday, unlike the previous weekend fairs, and will be open to all interested job seekers in the area, not just Somerville residents.

After the successful four day job fair, held over two weekends, in collaboration with the City of Somerville and the Somerville Community Corporation, which turned out more than 1000 people, FRIT believes this final pre-opening event will prove to be beneficial to those seeking employment in and around the Somerville neighborhood.

The Assembly Row Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd, one day only, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the La Quinta Inn and Suites, across from the Assembly Row development. It will feature about 30 percent of the confirmed retailers and restaurants, including AMC that will be opening its doors first at Assembly Row later this month. Future job fairs will host retailers and restaurants that plan to open later in the summer.

Employers will discuss open positions and accept resumes and applications before the opening of each of the individual tenant’s store.
Participating tenants of Assembly Row will be looking to fill positions at all experience levels, such as store managers, assistant managers, full-time and part-time sales associates or representatives. In addition other positions currently available include cooks, waitress/waiters, bussers and host/hostesses.
