Obituary
Walter C. Bridgeman Jr., passed away on 5/9/2026 at the age of 83. Walter was a long time resident of Cambridge, MA. He was cared for at home by his multiple family members: Cousins: Clare James, Kenneth Headley, and son Erik Bridgeman.
Walter was born in Cambridge MA to Walter Sr. and Sylvia Bridgeman on January 7, 1943. He graduated from Rindge Tech High School, Cambridge ma in 1961. He was a member of the Rindge Tech Men’s State Basketball Champion Team. He is currently a member of the Rindge Tech Hall of Fame. He retired from the MBTA after 23 years of service. He was active in multiple MBTA social clubs: T Club, and The Bus Stop to name a few. After his retirement he fund true passion in becoming the chosen DJ of Cambridge. He was truly LOVED!!!
He was loved in life by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Bridgeman; his sisters Joan Jarvis and Rita Bridgeman(deceased) his brothers, Richard and Robert Bridgeman; his sons, Erik, Daryl, Kevin, Keith, and Lance Bridgeman; his daughters, La Tasha Sarpy and her husband Thaddieus and Erica Polite; grandchildren, Shaquana, Dominic, and Keith Nedd Bridgeman, Kaniya Bridgeman, Erik Bridgeman, Jr., Keyshawn Thompson-Bridgeman, Jordan Bridgeman Dicks (deceased) Liam ,Leah ,Levi Sarpy and a host of great grandchildren, nieces ,nephews, family and friends.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Saturday, May 16th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Followed by a celebration of life service in the funeral home at 11:00AM.
Relatives and friends are invited.
Interment will be private.
