HILDA’S OBITUARY
Mrs. Hilda Souza, daughter of the late Sabino Rodrigues Pimenta and Otilia Lucas Pimenta, was born on June 19, 1944, at 2 p.m., in Aldeia, Municipio de Conselheiro Pena, Minas Gerais.
Hilda was raised in the protestant church. She married Aguir Souza on July 28th, 1960, and was blessed with 5 children. Her death was preceded by that of her brothers João Rodrigues Pimenta and Izaias Rodrigues Pimenta.
Hilda has been a vital member of our community and was very well known by many as Vo Hilda (Grandma Hilda). Since immigrating to the United States in the year 2000, she has worked at Modelo’s Market Cafe, and as an entrepreneur of her own crochet business. Not only is she hardworking and an inspiration to all, but she is also the kindest and brightest person. She is known as a friend whose door is always open. Someone who could bring a room of people to tears with laughter. She could always be found cooking a meal for friends and family, gardening in the summers, or her later days, crocheting in her chair. She will be remembered by many for her loving nature. Hilda departed early on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, after a long battle with interstitial lung disease. Despite this disease, she stayed strong for many years throughout it. She is an inspiration to everyone who knows her.
