Northeast School of Ballet, home to the Northeast Youth Ballet, located in Reading MA is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Jewell as Educational and Business Administrator.
Jewell joined the arts organization during the 2022-2023 season as a faculty member and administrative assistant to the director, Denise Cecere, after graduating from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Jewell’s position will assist the NSB/NYB families with their children’s dance needs and support the organization’s educational and performance programs.
“NSB has been looking for the right person for this position for years and Caroline is the perfect person for the job! Her knowledge of dance and understanding of the needs of children today, in addition to her organizational and leadership skills, is a gift to our organization. Ballet has been Caroline’s primary passion since childhood and she is still very present in the dance world. She continues to train, create, and mentor. I look forward to working closely with her and believe her experience working on both sides of the profession gives her the insight needed to elevate the artistic and educational programs for our school and company.” -Denise Cecere, Artistic Director
“NSB and NYB are everything that I would have wanted for myself as a young dancer studying ballet. To have the opportunity to be a part of such an experienced and talented team is an absolute honor. This past year, I have had the pleasure of teaching the student body as an instructor, as well as getting to know the families while working in the office. I’m grateful to be a part of this growing organization that emphasizes the traditions of classical ballet education and performance, all while continuing to evolve with the times. This school is unlike any other! The caliber of training and education, with the welcoming community that Sandra McNaught (founder) and Denise Cecere (Director) have created, is something that I value so much in the dance world. I hope to continue illuminating the legacy that the two of them have created, while providing support to our young artists, their families, and extended community alike.” -Caroline Jewell, Educational and Business Administrator
Northeast School of Ballet and Northeast Youth Ballet have been home to thousands of local students since 1971. They are dedicated to fostering a creative and inclusive environment while providing educational opportunities for our youth, and setting the highest standards of dance. Their mission is one shared by Caroline Jewell and as she steps into this leadership position there is no doubt that she will continue to help move the organization forward with artistry, excellence, and growth.
