Real Life Somerville Police Stories: (Furnish False ID) (Methuen & Andover Warrants)Arrest

On Wednesday, May 3, 2023 I, Lieutenant deOliveira, was the Officer in Charge for the dayshift at the Somerville Police Department.

At approximately 7:30am, a member for the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency called the Somerville Police to alert us that one of our detainees who had been arrested the previous night was wanted by their agency. We informed him that we do not hold detainees for ICE and that he was being transported to the Somerville District Court to be arraigned on his pending charges for which he was arrested. However, the name he provided did not match anyone we had in custody. At the time, we had XXXX in custody, which was the name the individual provided at booking, but a check of his fingerprint result revealed that the individual’s true name may be Felix G. Almandarez DOB XXXX. It seems that Mr. Almandarez was dishonest at booking for the purpose of concealing the fact that he had a removal order from ICE. The records also indicate that Mr. Almandez had been previously detained by ICE, leading me to believe that he was aware of the removal order. Therefore, I respectfully ask the court that he also be charged with Furnising False Information Following Arrest.

Respectfully,

Lieutenant Diogo A. deOliveira
Shift Commander
Somerville Police Department
