Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Somerville continues to have its rat problems with no immediate plan or end in sight. I used to go months never seeing one. I just saw NINE in a short walk. I’ve been seeing them cross Somerville Avenue when heading home at night. They’re coming off the tracks from the GLX construction (which I don’t mind) and coming into the neighborhoods BECAUSE THE RESTAURANTS ARE NOT OPEN!!

Clearly the mayor and our city councilors are not doing the job and protect in the best interest of their constituents. November cannot come soon enough for Somerville to have no leadership. Over the past eight years, our representatives (elected officials) in the city have gone silent and not listening to residents. They only come out during the election season then hide again for two years especially during the off voting season.

My entire neighborhood and 90% of the city are behind you because you are our only chance to save this city from becoming a socialist platform.
