Somerville Remembering Michael Leonard

Our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Michael Leonard on his passing.

Michael Leonard was a wonderful person who will be sadly missed by many here in Somerville.

Michael Leonard, 54, lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Born in Cambridge, he is the beloved son of the late Robert and Isabella (Price) Leonard.

Michael is a graduate of Somerville High School. For many years, he worked as a laborer in construction and with various local moving companies. Michael grew up in Somerville and loved playing flag football for Alibrandi’s and basketball at Trum Field. He could often be found at a Red Sox Game up on the Green Monster helping out the crew. He was full of life with a contagious personality, a story to make you laugh, and a hand to lend you when in need.

He is the Loving brother of Stephen Leonard and his wife Kelli, Theresa DiPietro and Robert Mattie and his wife Donna. Cherished uncle of Nicholas, Isabella and Addison Leonard, Matthew and Kyle Mattie, Freddie Iovanna and Dominic DiPietro. Michael also leaves his best friend and faithful dog, “Scrappy”.

Visiting hours will be held at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway, Powder House Square, Somerville on Saturday, March 13 th 2021 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

Funeral Service and interment will be held privately.
