Somerville Remembering Vincent J. Lauro

Vincent J. Lauro, 89, of Somerville and formerly of the North End, beloved husband of Elmaria (Costa) Lauro, passed away on Monday, March 1st, 2021.

Born in Palermo, Sicily, he is the son of the late Anthony and Maria (Testaverde) Lauro.
Vincent was a talented pastry chef. He began baking at the age of 12, working at Modern Pastry and Mike’s Bakery in the North End of Boston. He owned and operated his own bakery, Vincent Pastry in Waltham for 17 years. Vincent’s knowledge and skills were sought by many other bakers. He acted as a consultant and teacher for many in his field. Vincent is also a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is the loving husband of Elmaria (Costa) Lauro and beloved brother of the late Providenza Sirica.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 500 Canterbury Street, Boston in the Mausoleum at 11:30am, with Military Honors.
