U.S. Veteran
SPLAINE, Daniel F. – 88, A lifelong resident of Somerville passed away at home on December 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of the late Irene (Benoit).
Devoted father of Denise J. O’Donnell of Somerville and her late husband Keith, Donna J. Atamian and her husband David of Weare, NH, Daniel J. Splaine and his companion Janet Turco of Somerville, Darren J. Splaine of Methuen and his late wife Lisa, and the late Debra J. Splaine.
Dear brother of James Splaine of FL and the late Marjorie Windon and John Splaine.
Loving grandfather of Robert Splaine and his companion Chrissy, Darren, Michael, Devin, Derek Splaine and his fiancée Nicole, Keith O’Donnell and his fiancée Nicole, Daniel O’Donnell and his companion Molly, Michaela Richardson and her husband Thomas, Joseph and Hezekiah Atamian.
Great grandfather of Tyler, Michael, Skyla, Derek, Coda, and Evelyn.
Mr. Splaine was a retired truckdriver and late member of the Teamsters Union, Local 25.
He was one of the six original founding members and twice past president of The Somerville City Club.
He was also a veteran of the US Army, serving his country proudly during the Korean War.
Due to public health concerns and current social distancing restrictions of Covid-19 all services will be private. Mr. Splaine will be buried with Military Honors alongside his wife in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
