Meet this week’s “Special Person of the Week:Erika Fellinger

Erika Fellinger, MD, is a General and Minimally Invasive Surgeon with Cambridge Health Alliance, working primarily at the CHA Everett Hospital campus. She was recently named a “Top Doc” by the Boston Magazine in its annual feature showcasing local physicians across Massachusetts.

Dr. Fellinger primarily performs a wide range of general surgeries, minimally invasive surgeries and endoscopy. She mentors Harvard Medical School students as part of their Integrated Clerkship training program and instructs Beth Israel Deaconess surgical residents in endoscopy. She earned a medical doctorate from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, completed a residency at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont, and fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Bay State Medical Center.

Her unique career includes four years of work in Africa doing community health education with the United States Peace Corps. Dr. Fellinger and her husband reside in Somerville with their three children who attend the Somerville schools and are active in youth hockey and soccer. They all enjoy the wide variety of activities and benefits of living in Somerville. She considers it a privilege to live around, work with and care for the diverse and vibrant people of Somerville.
