WANTED BY FBI UNKNOWN SOMERVILLE BANK ROBBER

The FBI Boston Violent Crimes Task Force and the City of Somerville are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of a suspect in yesterday’s bank robbery in Davis Square. Anyone with information should call the FBI Boston Division’s Violent Crimes Task Force at 857-386-2000. Tips can also be electronically submitted at tips.fbi.gov.

On Wednesday, May 1, at approximately 9:57 a.m., the unknown male subject entered Middlesex Federal Savings Bank, 1 College Ave., and allegedly committed an armed robbery.

The suspect wore a blue beanie, a dark glove on his left hand, and a hooded camouflage jacket featuring a Nike logo on the left side above his chest. He wore blue jeans, black sneakers, and carried a black and red backpack.

The suspect entered the bank holding a revolver, fired one round into the ceiling and demanded money from the teller. After a uniformed Somerville police officer in the vicinity of Davis Square was alerted to a possible bank robbery in progress, the officer entered the bank and the suspect allegedly fired a round at the responding officer before fleeing the bank on foot.

The suspect is believed to be a light-skinned male in his thirties. He is approximately 5’7” to 5’11” in height, weighs approximately 175 pounds and has a medium build.
