Meet this week’s “Special Person of the Week:Joe Lynch, Board President
Joe Lynch is a member representative of SCATV. An active member of SCATV since 2008, Joe is the creator, producer and host of the talk show “Greater Somerville”. The recipient of multiple awards and nominations for best Hot Set, informational, political and special episodes of Greater Somerville, Joe is a retired banker, a mayoral appointee to multiple civic advisory initiatives, the founder of the Magoun Square Neighborhood Association and was voted the “Best Somerville Celebrity” and “Somerville Person of the Week” by local print media. Joe’s work with SCATV has received local and national recognition and was featured in a 2014 Boston Globe article highlighting the important work local community access television stations perform in the community.
In addition to Joe’s work on Greater Somerville, he has hosted the SCATV produced shows for the city sponsored ARTBeat, TEDx event, Scout Somerville magazine’s “King of the Ville six hour live broadcast, Cambridge Community Access Television’s political debate shows, and the SCATV coverage of the Massacusetts Democratic 2014 Convention in Worcester. Host of the Somerville Community Access Television and Boston Free Radio Annual Awards ceremony for several years, Joe is now one of the co-anchors of “Somerville Neighborhood News”.
