Mary’s Story

Peabody, MA – Mary Collins, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Angelo G. Collins, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.

Mary was born November 20, 1929, in Lowell, Mass., to Lambros and Helen Lazarakis. She was a graduate of Lowell High School. Mary and Angelo raised their family in Peabody where she was the ultimate wife and mom.

Aside from being a devoted wife and exceptional mother, she worked for the Peabody Public School System as a lunch lady for over 25 years.

She enjoyed music, especially Elvis Presley. What she enjoyed most was to spend time with her daughter Arete and grandchildren Christina, Stephanie, and Kim, shopping at the Christmas Tree Shop, and eating at the Olive Garden. Mary was a culinary expert. Always in the kitchen whipping up her famous brownies which she said were made with love.

She would do anything for anyone – always putting others before herself. Her generosity was unsurpassed.

Mary found tremendous joy in the relationships she built with friends and family and will be greatly missed by the many people she loved so much.

She leaves behind her daughter Arete C. Pascucci and three grandchildren Christina Pascucci Ciampa, Stephanie Pascucci, and Kim Pascucci. Additionally, Mary also leaves behind a sister, Irene Perris, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
