This past Saturday, the 5th Annual Sean Collier Kickball Tournament Extravaganza took place at the Somerville High School Gymnasium. The event was originally planned to take place a Trum field but was move to the gymnasium because of rainy conditions outside.

The annual event is in memory officer Sean Collier who was shoot and killed the Boston Marathon suspects immediately following the Boston Marathon Bombing.

On April 18, 2013, around 10:25 pm, MIT patrol officer Sean Collier, age 27, of Somerville, Massachusetts, was shot in his patrol car while responding to a disturbance outside MIT’s Stata Center.

  1. Sean would have made a fine Somerville Police officer. He worked for the SPD as a civilian and was well liked.

Yes, the Mayor did appoint Sean to the force posthumously, but Curtatone never mentioned that when Sean was up for appointment when he was alive, Curtatone bypassed him and did not appoint him. I want to know why he was bypassed.
