Real Life Somerville Police Stories:Javier COREA (MV Infractions)

On the above date and time, I was assigned to marked traffic unit T4, when I was directed to conduct enforcement on Linwood St. Linwood St is a public way in the City of Somerville. While there, a 2017 yellow Porsche convertible went by me. This vehicle did not a number plate on it. I activated my blue lights and stopped the vehicle. Once stopped, I approached the vehicle and the operator showed me the number plate. It had been inside the vehicle, on the front seat. That number plate was Massachusetts dealer plate XXXXX, belonging to Mercedes Benz of Boston, 259 McGrath Highway, Somerville.

I asked the operator, who is the defendant in this case, for his driver’s license. He told me that it was at his home. He had forgotten it on his way to work, this morning. So I asked him for his name and date of birth. He identified himself to me as Javier Lopez, both of which he spelled for me, with a DOB of YYYYY. I returned to my cruiser and attempted to run the information he gave me, through the RMV, on my mobile computer. At this point the information came back as not belonging to anyone in Massachusetts with a driver’s license. When confronted with this information, the defendant admitted that he lied to me, because he was scared. He correctly identified himself as Javier A. Corea with a DOB of ZZZZZ. When I ran this information through the RMV, it came back that the defendant had a suspended license because of a chemical test refusal from an OUI in Boston on 03/04/2017.

At this time, I placed the defendant under arrest for the above stated charges. He was transported to the police station and booked by Lt. W. Rymill. I issued citation # R604175 to the defendant.

Respectfully Submitted
