Our condolences go out to the Pero family for the passing of Walter who sadly passed away this past Thursday. Walter Pero was a former Ward 4 Alderman, a Veterans Advocate (and US Army Veteran himself) as well as a Somerville Lion.

PERO, Walter F. 69, Of Somerville and Harwichport, suddenly on April 6, 2017. Beloved husband of 47 yrs. to Florence E. (Sgroi). Loving son of Teresa M. Pero of Somerville and the late Walter F. Pero. Devoted father of Sarah M. Petitto and her husband Jim of North Reading, Emily K. Perrone and her husband Michael of Somerville. Dear brother of Donna J. Patten and her husband Russ of Quincy. Cherished grandfather “A” to Michael and Anthony Petitto. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends and most especially his beloved dog Harry.
