Somerville’s Fall 2013 Cycling and Pedestrian Count showed a 16% increase in people commuting by bike. Not only is that the highest level ever, it’s also 80% higher than our first count in 2010!

Find out more about how and why we count cycling commuters and see what the data showed on the Resistat blog.

  1. Eighty percent growth since 2010 is a striking trend, and seeing how they break down the commuter counts on the Resistat blog makes the data much easier to digest. When I want to trace similar year-over-year shifts, structured story guides and character profiles help me organize a long timeline of events without losing track of the sequence. Do they plan to keep publishing these counts annually so the trend stays visible?
