The Somerville News Weekly Special Person of the Week:Scotty Lombardo

By Frank Santangelo

Meet this week’s “Special Person of the Week Scotty Lombardo

Scotty Lombardo, a lifelong Winter Hill kid and resident Who grew up on Dartmouth Street and he is still holding down the fort at old #25.

Scotty became wicked smart attending the Foster, Winter Hill, Northeaster Junior High, and Somerville High School. Serving in the US Navy landed him a few places and even Florida for a stint (not jail).

Recently Scotty began taping a SCAT show called ‘Somerville the good ole’ days’ inspired in part by the Faceboook page of the same name, and the first episodes should be airing this July.

A few of the episodes will focus on the launch of SCAT TV and about the local music scene of old, and games people played out in the street and the parks of Somerville.

They will be filming a part of the games people played episode at Scotty’s upcoming 9th annual Winter Hill Kicks party that happens July 16.

The day and evening event includes a game or two of kickball, and a few rounds of Dodgeball, all at the Winter Hill Schoolyard on Sycamore St. Then an “Eat and Meet” party at his house with a chance to sing karaoke and yuck it up with a cast of characters including many local comedians, of which Scotty met in his 10 or so years performing on the local comedy circuit.

This is a true Somerville event representing all the things we loved to do as kids.

Scotty also hosts trivia locally under the name Funny Bone Trivia. A more adult and very local twist on the popular Pub Trivia game.
Go out and catch him somewhere telling jokes or educating folks with his true Somerville spirit, and be sure to keep your eyes open for the SCAT TV show coming soon.

Our hats are off to this true Somerville spirit.

Scotty Lombardo is a guy who grew up in Somerville and never forgot where he came from!

We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.

Congratulations!
