Real Life Somerville Police Stories:Dimitri EDMOND (Fugitive from Justice on Court Warrant & Malden Warrant)

About 1656 hours on Wednesday, 06/01/15, while assigned as Delta Fifteen within the Somerville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Detective Jones and I, along with Officers Collazo in marked unit #787 and Canty in marked unit #786, observed the defendant, Dimitri Starsky Edmond, sitting outside of 1374 (Chatham Building, Clarendon Hill Towers), Somerville.

The defendant, who is known to me via United States Marshall (TFO) Tavares, had two outstanding arrest warrants (MA Warrant #WR392078TC & NH NCIC Warrant #W575932598) seeking his apprehension/arrest.

I confirmed the warrants via Somerville E911 Dispatch and the mobile data terminal (MDT) that is equipped within Officer Collazo’s marked unit #787.

Upon receiving confirmation authenticating said warrants mandating the defendant’s arrest, I, with my badge fully displayed, verbally identified myself as a Somerville Police Officer and effectuated the arrest of the defendant without incident.

Adhering to the policies and procedures dictated by the Somerville Police Department, Officer Canty conducted a search of the defendant’s person for weapons and/or contraband prior to transport.

The defendant was then transported to Somerville Police Headquarters by Officer Fusco in mobile detention #200 and booked by Lieutenant Digregorio.

Pursuant to the defendant being placed in custody, he was additionally charged with being a Fugitive From Justice for the following crime: Felon In Possession Of A Firearm (NH Warrant #W575932598) issued by the State of New Hampshire, on Thursday, 03/25/16. The warrant was entered the into NCIC with full rendition for the felony incident.

Respectfully submitted,

Dante A. DiFronzo #290

Detective, Somerville Police Department
