City Seeking Performers for Annual Haitian-Brazilian Festival

   

The City of Somerville’s SomerVIVA program is bringing back its Haiti and Brazil Hit the Ville! Festival for its third year on Sunday, July 24, 2016, and we need performers! The Festival celebrates Haitian and Brazilian food, culture, and entertainment, and performers of all varieties who celebrate and exhibit one or both of those cultures are invited to apply for limited spots available during the three hour festival in Union Square. A committee will select acts for limited time spots. The Festival is free to attendees, and includes dozens of local vendors, artists, and restaurants. Several thousand attendees are expected for this year’s festival.

 

We’re looking for:

-Haitian and Brazilian musicians and bands to perform on our main stage

-Performance artists, dancers, and other creative people to interact with attendees

-Other groups that would like to get involved!

 

To apply, please provide the following in an email. 

 

1. Name of artist, band or group

2. Contact info: Contact person, e-mail and snail mail, phone number, and website, mp3 to music(if applicable)

3. Brief description of performance/type of art and images, video etc. (if applicable)

4. Number of artists/performers

5. Fee requested and length of performance

6. Technical requirements

7. Somerville affiliation (if any)
