Davis Square Theatre Hosts “Something Big” Somerville hotspot launches new comedic production

    
 
WHAT: There’s “Something Big” coming to Somerville’s Davis Square Theater. On June 16, the Davis Square Theater is launching a new monthly comedic showcase featuring stand-up from New York’s best and brightest comics in an intimate setting. Hosted by Nick Chambers and Al Park, “Something Big,” is certain to bring laughter to Boston in this reoccurring original series. This June’s show will feature comedians Anthony DeVito, Sam Evans and Kenice Mobley.

 

About the cast of comedians:

 

“Born in New Jersey, Anthony DeVito is a New York City-based comedian. He’s appeared on Comedy Central’s ‘Adam Devine’s House Party’, has been featured on ‘This American Life,’ AXS TV’s ‘Gotham Comedy Live,’ and was the 2015 winner of ‘Caroline’s March Madness’ competition. In addition to stand-up, he’s appeared on ‘The Jim Gaffigan Show’, is a regular on Fox News Channel’s ‘Red Eye’, Sirius XM’s ‘Bennington’, and has been published in Time Out New York and The New York Times.”

 

“Originally from Ohio, Sam Evans is a comic who after winning the 2012 Funniest Person in Cincinnati competition relocated to New York City to further pursue comedy. He was rewarded in 2014 when he was selected as one of the ‘New Faces’ of the ‘Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.’”

 

“Kenice Mobley is a stand-up comedian who regularly performs around New England. She has performed in the ‘Women in Comedy Festival’ the ‘Boston Comedy Festival,’ has opened for W. Kamau Bell and Marina Franklin, and was recently featured in Scout Magazine.’”
