Real Life Somerville Police Stories:Antwon TRIHN (Unlicensed Op of MV)

On Sunday May 29 2016, I was assigned to uniformed patrol on marked unit west 6 (w-6). At approximately 6:00 p.m., while parked at the corner of Highland Ave. with Willow Ave., I randomly queried a motor vehicle – traveling west on Highland Ave. a public way within the City of Somerville – bearing a Mass plate XXXXX. The result of the query indicated that the vehicle’s owner driver’s license was suspended. I proceeded to stop the vehicle and made contact with the operator. I confirmed that the operator was indeed the owner, Mr. Antwon Trinh. I explained to Mr. Trinh the reason for the stop and requested his driver’s license and registration. Mr. Trinh stated that he knew about the status of his driver’s license, but alleged that he had already paid the fines online and that his driver’s license had been re-instated. I asked to Mr. Trinh to provide me with any documentation to substantiate his claim, however, he was no able to furnish any documentation.

I placed Mr. Trinh under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, M.G.L. Chap. 90 Sec. 23D. Mr. Trinh was transported to Police Headquarters via unit 200.

Motor vehicle citation # R6650371 was issued. Mr. Trinh’s motor vehicle was towed via Pat’s Tow.

Respectfully Submitted,

Officer Ducasse, 313

Somerville Police Department
