Somerville Songwriter Sessions at the Armory Cafe presents a concert with Medford singer/songwriter Susan Cattaneo, Berklee singer/songwriter Mckenna Flaherty and Boston singer/songwriter George Woods on Saturday February 6.

Somerville Songwriter Sessions at the Armory Cafe presents contemporary folk singer/songwriters in concert on the first Saturday of each month. The Armory Cafe features live music in an intimate setting, a menu featuring sandwiches, soups, desserts and coffees, and plenty of free parking.
Susan Cattaneo is a Boston artist who combines vivid storytelling with a modern songwriter’s spin. Call it New England Americana with a twang. For 15 years, Susan has had the best day job ever; teaching Songwriting at the Berklee College of Music. Susan was a 2015 finalist at Kerrville’s New Folk Contest. Susan was also a finalist in the 2015 International Acoustic Music Awards, the Independent Music Awards, the USA Songwriting Competition, and the 2014 Mountain Stage New Song Contest. She has performed with Bill Kirchen, David Wilcox, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Ellis Paul, Paula Cole, and Melissa Ferrick. More at
Mckenna Flaherty is a storytelling singer/songwriter. Her songs combine the styles of pop, folk, country and Americana – pairing memorable melodies with powerful lyrics and foot-stomping rhythms. Mckenna is originally from Maryland, and has spent her summers writing and performing in Nashville, TN. She will be graduating from Berklee College of Music this spring 2016 with a degree in Songwriting, and will be moving to Nashville. Mckenna is releasing her EP Fuel Up on February 1st. Recorded in Nashville and Boston, and produced by Jared Anderson with many talented Berklee musicians featured, Fuel Up is a mix of country, folk and Americana. Feb. 6th at the Armory is Mckenna’s first live show featuring the songs off of her EP. More at
A producer, front and sideman, George Woods has been a staple force in the New England music scene for over 7 years. Currently in studio with seasoned producer Peter Holland-Recine, George is working on his second full length studio release. It’s set to drop in early Summer 2016 with several singles released along the way. In 2012 his first studio release Heartbeat saw placements in international advertising and, with the help of choreographer Jennifer Crowell-Kuhnberg, was transformed into “Heartbeat: A Modern Dance Rock Concert”, a mixed media theatrical production.
