On October 4th, 2015 my family was struck by an awful tragedy, the sudden death of my brother, a Somerville Fire Fighter Robert F Quinn, aka Uncle Robbie.

I want to express my sincere thanks to the Somerville Fire Department. You men and women showed so much compassion, caring and love to my family during a terrible time, even when you were trying to stay strong yourself.

The send off you gave my brother, uncle, was spectacular. You touched everybody’s hearts even the people that didn’t know him. It will be something that will be remembered forever. To those who were there during this hard time, we are forever thankful.

I would also like to thank the Somerville Police and Somerville Motorcycle unit for their compassion and services during the motorcade. My family and I were deeply grateful.

Also I would like to say thank you to Doherty’s Funeral Home. Everyone who works at Doherty’s showed so much caring and sympathy, you made a very hard time easier.

To everyone else who was involved we don’t know how to say thank you, words cannot describe how you helped us through a terrible ordeal.
