During the October SomerStreets Festival the City’s 19th Century Burial Ground is open to the public. This ghostly gathering treats visitors to a guided tour of the grave sites. At each site a Ghost from the deep and distant past will engage in a conversation about his or her life in Somerville in centuryies past. What a wonderful way this is to learn about our City from those who lived it. Pictures 2&3: this is the oldest Civil War Monument in the United States. 

Many of the young people in these pictures are Somerville High School students acting the role of Somerville Citizen’s past.
