July at the Armory in Somerville

It is the perfect time of year to begin an endless exposure to the local arts community here at the Armory — with no SPF required! This July, we are excited to be hosting a number of youth arts summer camps as well as our usual array of music, comedy, and community-based events.
Be sure to like us on Facebook to see what’s happening day-to-day or check out our website to see everything that’s coming up! Here are a few of the highlights…

Robert Bicknell Photography
July in the Cafe

Throughout July, the scenic and fine art photography of Groton, MA native Robert Bicknell will be on display. A fixture of New England nature photography with his own sensibilities that range from realism to abstraction, Bicknell holds two rules sacred: “Light is everything” and “You have to be there.” Be in the Cafe in July to see for yourself.

Kat Kennedy
July 18th, 6:30pm-10:30pm in the Cafe

Center for Arts at the Armory presents Kat Kennedy with Joe Holt, Miranda Inzunza, ER, and Amy and the Engine.

Kat Kennedy began performing in her home state of Connecticut at age 7, broadening across that border as time went on, eventually landing her at Berklee College of Music where she truly could hone her current singer/songwriter pop/folk style. In Summer 2014, she was chosen for an internship at Lucky Diamond Music in Nashville, TN, and is currently finishing her degree in Boston while working on her debut album to be released in the fall of 2015, performing both her originals and covers around town all the while.

…including THIS show in The Armory’s cafe! Kat will be joined by Joe Holt, a folk singer/songwriter from England, also finishing a degree at Berklee; ER (Jamie Lee Vespa) a melting pot of classic rock, folk, jazz, and pop influences; Miranda Inzunza, a New Yorker also finishing a songwriting degree at Berklee and finally, Amy and the Engine, fronted by South Portland, Maine’s Amy Allen.
