BoSoma Dance Company, established in 2003 by Katherine Hooper and Irada Djelassi, is a Boston-based contemporary dance company combining vibrant, energetic movement with athletic performance quality. The company’s mission is to make dance captivating and accessible through dynamic performance and community education. BoSoma presented its premiere performance, Velocity, in September 2004. Since then, the company has presented two annual shows e…ach year in Boston.

About the series: Dating back to our SomervilleStruts dance showcase in 2004, we’ve always thought the region should know about our city’s amazing dance community. Rather than showcasing these talented local dance troupes in a traditional venue, we invited them to choose outdoor locations. And so, this spring and early summer, expect to see dancing spilling onto the streets! Produced in coordination with the Boston Dance Alliance, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
