This past Thursday afternoon over one hundred local seniors from the Somerville Council on aging enjoyed a scrumptious home cooked barbecue hosted by the Winter Hill Yacht Club.
There were handmade cheeseburgers, hotdogs, watermelon, salads, ice cream, raffles and much much more.
DJ Hank spun the tunes for the seniors and provided many memorable summer songs for the seniors to enjoy themselves while they were dining overlooking the waterfront.
Somerville Coa Director Cindy Hicky, Ward 2 Alderman Maryann Heuston and Ward 1 Alderman Matthew McLaughlin, Somerville Police Community Officer and Marianne Manfra were all on hand at the event assisting Commodore Joe Dunne and his dedicated crew of the Winter Hill Yacht Club members as well as Somerville Lions Club member Vivaldo Meneses Jr prepare and serve the meal to the crowd.
Over the years, the Somerville Winter Hill Yacht Club’s hospitality has become a valuable asset as well as a good nieghbor and partnering with the city of Somerville assisting and hosting events for the seniors of the Council on Aging to make every experience at the club a memorable event.
