On Thursday April 16th, 2015, I, Officer Schneider, was in full uniform and assigned to patrol route East-4 in marked cruiser 874 during the evening shift. The following report is a summary of events that I witnessed, as they pertain to incident #15016897:
At approximately 4:20 pm Officer Van Nostrand (East-1) and I were dispatched to a report of a dispute occurring in the court yard of 45 Memorial Road. While speaking with the parties involved in the dispute, a person alerted us to a fight that was occurring on the other side of the building. As I responded to the area where the fight was occurring, I heard several distinct thudding sounds, similar to the sound a piece of beef makes when it is struck by a meat tenderizing hammer. Officer Van Nostrand and I came upon the scene where we witnessed two females, later identified as Holly Shea and Brandielee Dasilva, on the ground fighting. Shea was on top of Dasilva and the females were repeatedly punching and screaming at each other.
Officer Van Nostrand and I pulled Shea off of Dasilva and placed her into handcuffs in a manner consistent with our training. Dasilva was subsequently placed into handcuffs as well. I observed several small abrasion on both of the females. The two females were placed under arrest and I will be filing a complaint against each of them for violating Massachusetts Common Law: Affray.
Officer DeOliveira arrived in prisoner transport unit 200 and transported the females back to the police station where they were booked in the usual manner by the shift commander, Lieutenant Mulcahy. Officer DeOliveira informed me that as Shea was being escorted to unit 200 in handcuffs, Shea spit on Dasilva. Due to Shea spitting on Dasilva, I will be seeking an additional complaint against Shea for Ch. 265 / S. 13A: Assault and Battery.
Respectfully submitted,
Officer Devin Schneider
