The parking ban remains for most streets citywide, but to prepare for school on Monday, all school parking lots and the Central Library lot will be CLOSED for snow removal starting 6 p.m. Friday, 2/20. All cars not moved from school or library lots by 8 p.m. on Fri., will be subject to ticketing and towing.
BUT please note that City crews are working to clear snow from streets surrounding school lots to accommodate additional parking and the ban will be lifted from those streets by tomorrow evening. Residents may also still park in non-school City lots. Please visit www.somervillema.gov, or call 311 for the latest list of streets where the parking ban has been lifted and visit www.somervillema.gov/snow for a list of City lots that are not school lots.
Residents may also return to lots after snow removal is complete. However, also please note that school lots will NOT be available for emergency parking after Fri. Going forward, residents may only use school lots between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. on weekdays, and at all hours on weekends.
School & Library lots that must be vacated by 8 p.m. Fri. are:
– East Somerville
– Somerville High/City Hall
– West Somerville
– Winter Hill
– Central Library
We know this is getting complicated, but 7+ feet of snow is complicated. Thanks for bearing with us, Somerville.
