SOMERVILLE POLICE BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY AWARD
is presented for outstanding dedication and effort for the month of December 2013 to Officer Leo Martini
Officer Leo Martini has been an exemplary employee of the Somerville Police Department for the last 26 years.
Over the years Leo, has become very involved in the community, especially at the Argenziano School, where he is assigned as the community police officer. During his time spent at the school, Leo has distinguished himself as a positive role model and has spoken with students on topics ranging from the purpose of police work to why it is important to get a good education. Leo’s support also extends beyond the students at the school, as he is often called upon to speak with parents about ways to help their children. Due to the fact that he attends many school events, Officer Martini has earned the respect of students, faculty and parents. He is always willing to assist and works tirelessly to ensure that any questions or problems that arise are quickly taken care of. Officer Martini’s dedication to the members of this community and to the performance of his duties is beyond the call of duty and merits this departmental recognition.
