Members of the popular new TV hit series about the Wahlberg family were in Somerville this past Saturday afternoon and got a personalized guided tour of the multi-billion-dollar project down at Assembly Square by
Mayor Joseph Curtatone.
A couple of Wahlberg family owned restaurants were the center of discussion as Mayor Curtatone and associate members representing Federal Realty rolled out the red carpet and discussed two new proposed sites for two new restaurants down at Assembly Square.
One restaurant discussed was “WahlBurgers” which is a burger restaurant owned by the Wahlberg family and reality TV show “Wahlburgers”.
Wahlburgers is currently a restaurant based in Hingam MA and is owned by chef Paul Wahlberg in partnership with two of his brothers, actors Donnie and Mark.
It is the subject of an eponymous A&E reality television series that debuted earlier this year.
The second Wahlberg restaurant that was discussed is one that was opened by the Wahlberg Brother’s mom called “Alma Nove!”
Alma Nove was presented by Paul Wahlberg and is a stylish and contemporary restaurant and bar offering classic Italian cuisine amid the bountiful flavors of the surrounding Mediterranean.
Currently located in the historic Hingham Shipyard steps from the beautiful shoreline of Hingham Bay,
where guests can enjoy a scenic view whether they dine inside with panoramic floor to ceiling windows or on the patio furnished with lounge furniture and a fire pit.
Two extended seating golf carts and a black Hummer toured the Somerville multi-acre property on Saturday where the mayor and developers were pitching the possibilities to the restauranteurs.
The proposed location of the two new restaurants would be located, if agreed by all parties, would be in the new Partners Health Care building that will be located directly behind the Home Depot in Somerville.
The three tower multilevel/multiunit Partners Health Care building structure where the proposed Wahlberg’s restaurant spaces where they would be leasing are said to begin construction this coming spring and are estimated to be completed in the summer of 2015 and are estimated to contain over forty-three hundred people on a daily basis.
After the tour members of the Wahlberg staff were treated to a festive Irish St Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage luncheon next door at the Somerville Winter Hill Yacht Club.
