The St Clement Boys Basketball Team stunned St Mary’s of Lynn 62 to 57 capturing the Division 4 North Title at Emmanuel College on 3/7. With the win,
the team punched their ticket to play in the State Division 4 semi finals against Bishop Connolly at the Boston Garden. The victory is the school’s first appearance in the North Finals since 1987 and the first time playing at the Boston Garden (School has been open since 1925). Leading the effort was Medford’s own Eamonn Joyce who had 23 points and played solid defense. The 6”7 junior was tremendous making all of his free throw shots to lift the number 1 seeded Anchormen past the 4th seed St Mary’s of Lynn.

“(Joyce) played incredible and played within himself,” Boucher said. “He’s a tremendous foul shooter and has tremendous touch. He’s a very, very underrated shooter, and we felt that he could score on the baseline.” Head Coach Leo Boucher is in his 12th year coaching the team. The team enjoyed a 19-1 record earning them the 1st seed.

The Anchormen never led in the first half, but contained St. Mary’s shooting in the second half to secure the thrilling win. Co-captain, senior Khaneil Bruce (Everett) had 12 points and junior point guard Brandon Williams (Dorchester) had 13 points. Junior Co-captain Jack Hartnett (Medford) pitched in with 3 points after sinking two critical three point shots in the previous game to push them to the Division 4 finals.
