About the Nibble book
This beautiful 132-page color book explores how food tells a story about Union Square, Somerville. We think the square is a very special neighborhood right now; it is diverse, artsy, yet has enough grit to keep things interesting. This is illustrated through the food landscape, with its beautiful, motley mix of pizza joints, mom-and-pop markets, lively pubs, farmers’ markets, posh new restaurants and brimming global flavor. This book aims to capture this dynamic—and delicious—sense of place.
The Nibble book costs $20; all proceeds support the public programs of the Somerville Arts Council.

The mission of the Somerville Arts Council is to cultivate and celebrate the creative expressions of the Somerville community. Through innovative collaborations and quality programming we work to make the arts an integral part of life reflective of our diverse city. To continue the growth of both cultural and economic development in our community, the Somerville Arts Council relies on many supporters to achieve success. If you’ve enjoyed our programming we offer throughout the year–ArtBeat, the Illumination Tour, our LCC grant program to artists, schools and organization, our Union Square ArtsUnion programming, exhibits, youth programs like the Mystic Mural and Art in the Garden–then please donate. Individual contributions are crucial to our operation, providing us with both financial support and encouragement. Please remind yourself of the SAC programs you’ve enjoyed and services we provide; then consider making an annual contribution to the Arts Council. And your support is tax deductible!
