Cherished Grandmother of Andrew Hill, Abigail Hill-Haversat, Aimee Figgins, and Jack Figgins and Great GrandMother of Audrey Hill, Flynn Haversat, Lukas Hill, and Nolan Haversat.
Throughout her life, Peggy was deeply committed to her Catholic faith and lived every day practicing her religion. She was an avid traveler, swam, exercised, walked regularly, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, amazing Mom, and incredible grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her universe and she was so very proud of us all. We always felt her love deeply.
Peggy was a true Renaissance Woman who, after staying home to raise a family and work part time, primarily as a Para-Professional, went back to college in her early 40’s, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. She taught Special Education in Somerville for over 30 years and her love of learning endured throughout her life. She was an avid reader and participated in several Book Clubs well into her 90’s.
Throughout her life, Peggy volunteered in her community including, but not limited to, at St. Vincent de Paul, St Raphael’s Church, tutoring children, helping in food pantries, etc. She strived to make the world a better place and she succeeded in so many ways.
Peggy positively touched the lives of so many people and left a smile for whomever she met. She was always full of compliments for everyone, making them feel special and appreciated. Peggy was an incredibly kind and most thoughtful person. Her family, friends, and the world will certainly miss her shining light.
