Obituary

Regina M. (Murphy) Sullivan, of Medford, passed away on March 16th surrounded by the love of her family, she was 70 years old.

Born in Boston and raised in Medford she was the daughter of the late Louise (Bowen) and Timothy B. Murphy. A graduate of St. Clement High School, she went on to further her studies and became a certified Ophthalmic Technician.

The beloved wife of Stephen Sullivan, they were married on November 4, 1978 and celebrated 45 years together. Cherished and devoted mother of Timothy J. Sullivan and his wife Edith A. Block of Wakefield. Dear sister of Mary Hughes and her husband Kenny of Arlington, Helen Marino and her husband Peter of Burlington, Robert Murphy and the late Louise Murphy of Arlington, John “Jack” Murphy of Connecticut, Paul Murphy and his surviving wife Donna of Malden. Regina is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Especially devoted to her family, she enjoyed the holidays and loved to host her annual Christmas Eve Party. Despite facing many struggles, Regina lived life to its fullest with gratitude and an open and loving heart to all she cared about.

Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Friday morning, March 22nd at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Calling Hours in the funeral home on Thursday, March 21st from 4:00PM ~ 7:00PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Following the burial, Regina’s family wishes to invite all to the Menotomy Grill & Tavern, 25 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington for a reception to continue in honoring and celebrating her life.
