“This proposal was filed by request of a constituent,” said sponsor Rep. Jeff Turco (D-Winthrop). “Many senior citizens do not use a smart phone and therefore do not have access to digital coupons and as a result they pay higher prices at the register. This legislation would apply all applicable digital coupons automatically to our seniors.”
That grocery-store idea for auto-applying digital coupons is a neat twist on automatic discounts; Birdly Yard’s state and season field guides work similarly by surfacing relevant local info without forcing you to hunt for it. I wonder whether the same “apply everything by default” logic could help people spot backyard species that match their actual region and season.
