Somerville/Medford Remembering Christopher James Hutchinso

Obituary:
Christopher James Hutchinson of Somerville passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. He was born on October 28, 1989. He was 34 years young.

Chris was born in Cambridge and raised in Tewksbury. He grew up with his brothers, fishing, swimming, riding bikes, ice skating and playing ice hockey. He would fish in his grandfather and he enjoyed eating fried dough and tea with lots of sugar made by his grandmother. His uncles would take him to the beach, take him on boats, play hockey, and teach him to skate. He was often in the newspaper because he was a great hockey player on the Tewksbury Redmen and all the coaches wanted him. He also spent time on his grandfather’s land in Nova Scotia, Canada during the summers.

Chris was talented with his hands. He took his talent and made himself a successful career in construction, carpentry, and he snow plowed for the town of Somerville. He enjoyed fishing, vacationing, camping, going to the beach, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, and anything that has to do with the outdoors. He loved going out to eat, and he loved lobster rolls. He was a great cook too. Chris loved his family and friends and would do anything for the people he loved.

Chris moved to Somerville to be close to his daughter, Zoey Marie Hutchinson. She was his princess. His mom never saw Chris happier than when he was with Zoey. They would play, giggle, hug, and kiss. Chris loved to spoil her. All he wanted was time with his daughter. On their last day together, Chris took a picture of Zoey peacefully sleeping in the car and said, “Have you ever seen something so beautiful?” She was the love of his life. He loved children. Chris’s dream was to get a piece of land and have a million more “Zoeys”.

Chris loved people and he loved life. He wanted to connect with others and make them smile and laugh. He was good-hearted and would give to the homeless. He wanted to make sure everyone was okay. Chris was truly one of a kind.

He was the beloved grandson of Simonne LaVallee and Michael Joseph Connolly. He was also the grandson of Rita Stanton and Fred Hutchinson. Chris was the son of his adoring mother, Colleen Connolly, and his father, the late Thomas Edward Hutchinson. His mom was one of his best friends. They enjoyed going for drives together. He was a devoted father to his princess Zoey Marie Hutchinson. He was the cherished and loving brother of Daniel Hutchinson and the late Thomas Joseph Hutchinson. He was the loving boyfriend of Rachel Shea, who adored him and stood by his side until the end. He was the dear nephew of Thomas Connolly, Paul Connolly, Bob Connolly, Donna Conolly, Ronald Connolly, Lindia Connolly, Daniel Connolly, Dennis Connolly, Michael Connolly, Edmond Connolly and Mary Connolly. Chris is also survived by many loving cousins, friends and extended family members. He will be greatly missed by all. Chris, mom loves you and will miss you forever.
