Somerville/Medford Remembering Maria Jose Viveiros

MARIA’S OBITUARY

Viveiros, Maria Jose (Correia)- Of Somerville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 20th. She was 88 years old.

Born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Luis and Guillermina Correia. At the age of 19 she immigrated to Venezuela and met the love of her life Albano with whom she spent 64 blissful years. Maria loved her family immensely and deeply. Her family was her number one priority. If they needed anything, she was always the first one there to lend a hand. She was seen as a grandmother figure to her great nieces and nephews. She loved to care for all the children in her family. On her down time, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and taking care of her garden. During the holidays, she loved to host all the family, especially during Christmas time. She had a nativity set that sprawl over half her living room. Maria will be immensely missed by her loved ones.
She was the beloved wife of 64 years to Albano Viveiros. The devoted mother of Jose Luis Viveiros and his longtime partner Margarita Bancy of Malden, Elena Maria Viveiros of Somerville, and Carmen Dzioba and her husband Jay of Medford. Loving grandmother of Joshua Ghuste and his partner Becca Perry, Alexandra Dzioba, and Christopher Dzioba. Cherished great grandmother of Laela Siv Maria Perry-Ghuste. The dear sister of the late Odilia, Gilda, and Alda. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral procession will be held on Wednesday, September 27th from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) at 9:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 64 Warner St., Medford at 10:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be on Tuesday, September 26th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
