One Somerville, Every Child: Celebrate ‘Week of the Young Child’ on April 12

April 10-14 is Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration designated by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families.

In recognition, Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, Somerville Public Schools, and Somerville’s early childhood community invite parents, children and educators to enjoy music, pizza, and games at the One Somerville, Every Child celebration on Wednesday, April 12 on the Somerville High School concourse (81 Highland Ave.) from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Somerville is committed to creating a city where all youth and families can thrive. A collective approach to meeting the needs of young children is supported by the Somerville Children’s Cabinet, which develops comprehensive child well-being and education systems that leverage the many resources and partners within the city and surrounding community to eliminate the link between children’s socioeconomic status and academic achievement.
