Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Valerie received an award at the West Somerville Neighborhood School for her empathy toward her fellow students. She shows concerns on peoples feelings and understands their needs. Each grade selected a student of the month. Valerie Wright was selected for the sixth grade.

Valerie Wright is to daughter Lydia Mulrey Wright and her husband Ken Wright’s daughter. Grandparents Diane and Larry Mulrey. Daughter and also granddaughter to proud grandparents Diane and Larry Mulrey. Thanks so much Billy!

Achievement citation reads:

“Valerie Wright has been recognized for outstanding achievement in empathy during school year of 2022 to 2023 and is here by awarded this certificate of distinction.
