The Northeast Youth Ballet, under the direction of Denise Cecere, is a Reading based school and company that performed The Nutcracker this past weekend at the J. Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts in Andover. The ballet was so well received that the young cast of 85 dancers, known for their talent and professionalism, had the enthusiastic audience on their feet when the curtain closed.
An audience member shared their feelings with the media immediately after the show saying, “Truly magical! The Nutcracker was a spectacular performance! I’m never going into Boston again!!” Bravo to Northeast Youth Ballet’s cast and crew for bringing quality dance productions to the north shore at affordable prices and providing educational programming for the community’s youth. Don’t miss NYB’s next performance, Spring’s Renewal, on April 29th and 30th, when they bring the classic Sleeping Beauty (Act III Aurora’s Wedding) set to Tchaikovsky’s beautiful score to Andover again. Also on the program will be new works by local award-winning choreographers, Joseph Jefferies and Jeremy Ruth Howes. The mixed program will showcase the next generation of dancers and will have something for everyone!
