Medford is steeped in history of our nation’s founding and today we added to that legacy by unveiling a historical marker commemorating Revolutionary War hero General Lafayette’s Farewell Tour in 1824.
Lafayette stopped in Medford during that trip and dined with Governor John Brooks. The marker, installed at the site of the Governor’s house (now the Members Plus Credit Union) was a joint effort between the City, the Medford Historical Society, the Credit Union and the non-profit organization The Lafayette Trail.
Thank you to everyone who helped create this reminder of our City’s rich history and honor one of the icons of the American Revolution.
