Somerville’s Municipal Scholarship Committee is seeking to fill one vacancy for a three-year term, and all Somerville residents are invited to apply. This committee awards scholarships to high school graduates to use toward their higher education expenses. Funding for the scholarships comes from voluntary contributions made by Somerville taxpayers.

Scholarship Committee members develop a meeting schedule, review redacted scholarship applications, set criteria for awards, and make award recommendations. The committee typically meets for a few hours a week over a four- to five-week period. If you’d like to be considered, send a statement of interest to treasury@somervillema.gov by Friday, August 5.
