DOMENICO’S OBITUARY
Mr. Domenico Patania, of Somerville, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2021, he was 84. Born in Augusta, Sicily, Italy he was the son of the late Maria (Morello) and Salvatore Patania. He came to the United States in the 1960’s and proudly became a US citizen in June of 1967.

He was the beloved husband of the late Emilia R. (Gianino) Patania. Devoted father of Maria Marchand and her husband Joseph of Everett, Anna Melissa McCarthy and her husband Scott of Medford and the late Salvatore Patania. Cherished Nonno of Anthony Joseph Marchand and his wife Julia, Samantha Alyssa McCarthy, Bryan Arthur McCarthy and bisnonno of Christine Emilia and Carmela Maeve Marchand. Dear brother of the late Angelina Mallo and her husband Vincenzo and the late Salvatore “Sam” Patania and his surviving wife Josephine of Revere. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Monday, December 27th from 4:00pm -7:00PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Domenico was a retired fisherman who captained his own vessel the “Anna Maria” and was an active member of the Italian American Club in Malden.
