PATRICK’S OBITUARY
U.S. Veteran
Patrick McDaid, 91 of Somerville, formerly of Clonmany, Co. Donegal, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 30, 2021.

Born in Ireland, he was the son of the late Grace (Doherty) and Patrick McDaid.
Beloved husband of Kathleen (Creavin) for 62 years.
Devoted father of Patrick, Jr., Thomas and his wife Donna Moulton, James and his wife Kathleen Zinck, Linda and her husband Paul Driscoll. Cherished grandfather of Ashley, Meghan, Kaitlyn, Connor, Michael, Devin, Gina, Lisa and four great-grandchildren.
Dear brother of nine predeceased siblings.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Thursday from 4pm – 7pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interior capacity of the funeral home is limited to 25 people inside at any given time, we respectfully ask you to pay your respects and exit to allow others to do the same. Face masks and social distancing protocols required at all services. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday in St. Benedict Church, 21 Hathorn St, Somerville at 11AM. Please meet directly at the church.
Interment will follow at Mount Benedict Cemetery.

Mr. McDaid was an Army veteran of the Korean War, earning the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions on the front lines in combat. He retired from H.P. Hood Company after 38 years of service.
