Three of our favorite annual holiday events are coming up, so mark your calendars:
December 6: The annual Christmas Tree lighting at City Hall and visit with Santa starts at 5:30 p.m. You can also enjoy some tasty holiday treats and entertainment by the Somerville High School band and chorus, the Somerville Community Chorus, and El Sistema Somerville.
December 9: There will be a ceremonial Menorah lighting at City Hall starting at 4:30 p.m. with Rabbi Eliana from Temple B’nai Brith, Mayor Curtatone, and community members. The Menorah will also be lit each night of Hanukkah.
December 15: Take a tour of Somerville’s awesome holiday lights displays with the Somerville Arts Council’s annual Illuminations Tours. Tours leave from the Somerville High School field house every 45 minutes starting at 4:30 p.m. Illuminations Tour tickets will go on sale December 2, at Blue Cloud Gallery, 713 Broadway (cash or check only).
Many of our local businesses and organizations will also have fun activities happening this winter, so keep an eye out for more opportunities to enjoy the holidays in Somerville.
