BEWARE OF PHONE SCAMS

The Massachusetts Secretary of State’s office is also warning voters of a potential scam involving phone calls from people fraudulently offering to register voters over the phone. “If you receive a phone call asking you if you want to register to vote over the phone, hang up. Do not give that person any of your personal information,” Galvin said.

The calls are being investigated by the FBI and U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

$1 BILLION SURPLUS AND STATE REVENUE CONTINUES TO RISE – The Legislature and Gov. Baker have not yet decided how to spend the $1 billion plus surplus left over in the state coffers from last fiscal year. While that decision is being made, state revenues for the current fiscal year continue to climb and are now $323 billion above the amount the state had planned to receive.
